08 Apr “THE BEST STEAKS ANYWHERE” !
People come from miles around for a steak at the New Inn at Morleigh (25 minute drive the other side of Totnes)
Becky together with her sister Pip have been running the place for 47 years and have in recent times brought in Bridgette (Becky’s daughter) and Jeremy her husband to help them run the place.
The New Inn is a real old fashioned country pub with a great ‘horsey’ history – and even a winner of The Grand National on their doorstep in 1991- – the décor and even the menus haven’t changed in nearly 50 years – what about a ‘70s ‘prawn cocktail in a marie rose sauce’ ? – you’ll get it at here – I wouldn’t change anything !
However, this is about their steaks – they don’t have to be the largest, but whether you order rump, sirloin, rib eye or fillet (£17 -£20) they are in my view the best, both for flavour and tenderness anywhere around. What they do to them before they serve them to you – I have no idea – but it’s clearly a secret they keep to themselves.
Angie, and I love it for exactly what it is, and the way it is – we hope you will too!
Michael
